Welcome to Heidi’s Happy Hens. I am Heidi. My husband Danny, our baby William and Archie the dog started off with four point of lay hybrids. Shearer, The Major, Snowflake and Yummy Yummy.

Being new to chickens we were surprised how easy they were to look after and what great pets they made, you will be amazed by how friendly they quickly become. My four girls would follow us around everywhere, and if we ever forgot to shut the back door they would sneak into the kitchen.

We couldn't believe how different the eggs tasted, so fresh and delicious. Any spare eggs would be given to my parents, two sisters and next door neighbours. Big mistake because we were soon giving away all of our eggs and having none for ourselves and trust me once you have tasted your own eggs and know where they have come from, you will never buy shop bought eggs again.

So we added to our flock again and again to keep up with the demand of people wanting our eggs and that’s how Heidi’s Happy Hens was born.

Fast forward a few years William is now four and loves having his wellies on and being outside with the chickens, we also have Harry who is one he was born August 2010 and we now have baby Jack who was born August 2011 we feel as they grow up its a great way for them to learn not only where eggs come from but how to care for animals.  We also have extended our animal family and now have two dogs, four horses, ducks, pigs, goats, donkeys and many more.  Take a look at our Picture Gallery to see photos of the Stobson Family both human and animals.

Here at Heidi's Happy Hens we ALWAYS go that extra mile for our customers.  We welcome our customers to bring their families with them, we have loads of toys for your children to play with.  To mention a few there's a play house, three slides and so many cars, trucks, trains and kids wheelbarrows etc.  But not only do we have toys we have so many other animals to get up close with and stroke and fuss, we have two mini Shetland ponies, Williams pony, Micro pigs, dogs, kittens, rabbits, goats, lambs, mini donkeys and many more.

We understand people may not quite be ready for there new hens, but are still so excited and want to come and have a look.  That is no worries why not come and have a look and if you see hens that you like you can reserve your hens.  We will put on coloured leg rings for you (so no one else can pick them).  We will keep them for up to six weeks longer if needed.  We do ask for you to pay for the hens in full.  

We also offer a delivery service as we understand people can not always get to us!  And we guarantee our hens for six months because we are proud of our healthy hens and we offer a FREE holiday care service there is more information on the POL Hens page.

NEW HENS HAVE ARRIVED THURSDAY 17TH MAY 
ALL of the breeds of hens that we show on our hens for sale page are now be back in stock.  These also include our blue egg layer.  The crested. 

All of the hens that we now have in stock are fully vaccinated and they are at least sixteen weeks old.  We NEVER sell hens that are younger than 16 weeks old. 

Don't forget we offer a reservation service so you can either reserve over the phone or pop over and reserve them.  Or if your ready just take them away with you.  Don't worry about boxes to take your girls home.  We give them away FREE OF CHARGE. 

Also dont forget we are the only company that offers a FREE holiday care service.  But please give us as much notice as possible as spaces are limited.

TWO BABY PYGMY GOATS
On Wednesday 22nd Feb.  I got a phone call from a lovely lady called Clare who has a herd of pygmy goats.  One of her mummy goats had died leaving two tiny baby girls without a mummy.  She wondered if Heidi's Happy Hens could help!  OF course we can so we now have two new tiny faces around for you to meet.  Please come and see them as they need lots of love and bottle feeding.  So if your passing please come and meet our new babies.

We have also reserved a baby goat from our friends at Hoar Park farm (Crackle he will be arriving early May2012) so our little herd of Pygmy Goats will be called Snap, Crackle and Pop.  The pictures below are of Snap and Pop.  Matt has taken some amazing photos that I am slowly adding to the website.  However when I said close ups the goats were more than happy to oblige. 

HUGE CHANGES IN 2012!!!

From Jan 1st 2012 when you buy chickens from us, you will leave with not only your fully vaccinated and GUARANTEED chickens.  But you will leave with a FREE goody pack this will include a chicken care  / information sheet, a copy of the vaccinations that the girls have, a voucher for the girls to come on a FREE yearly holiday with us, vouchers so if you recommend us to people and they buy hens from us, you get free feed and loads more!!  No doubt this will be copied like lots we do but remember it started HERE!!  For any customers pre 2012 who want one please pop in and pick one up.  xx  More info on our CHICKEN page.  

We have also changed / are changing our website around because lots of you have asked us for more information on red mite, feeding, worming and general health care.  All updates will be completed by the end of January 2012.     

NEW BABY ANIMALS ARRIVING VERY SOON (BY THE END OF MAY)

For the past two years, I have spent both summers heavily pregnant.  It was not great planning to have two babies only 11 months apart oops.  So anyway 2012 was going to be a baby free year.  But all that has changed, we thought how nice it would be to add a few more animal faces to our small holding.  We now have Hamish and River (Dee) the donkeys, Snap, Crackle and Pop the Pygmy goats.  Polo the lamb.  We also have a rather fabulous Peacock called Fillip.  Coming very soon two boer goats and two mini sheep.  These will be here in the middle of May.  All of these are going to be super friendly and need lots of fuss.  These animals will add to our little animal family that include the dogs, ducks, cats, rabbits, mini horses, Williams pony and the good old micro pigs.  As our customers you can come back and see these as much as you want.  More pictures coming soon.  Please note we are not a petting farm, we just love animals.  Well I do, Danny just loves me.

BABY MINI LOP RABBITS - READY TO RESERVE - READY TO LEAVE END OF MAY - EARLY JUNE

We have had two litters born here they are all soooooo cute.  They are ready to leave when they are eight weeks old at the end of April.  Please see our Rabbit Page for more information or give me a call if you want to arrange to see them.

We can now take any debit / credit card payments apart from American Express. Please note due to recent new charges from our card company if you are paying with a CREDIT card there will be a 3% charge. NO CHARGE FOR DEBIT CARDS!!

GIFT VOUCHERS

We now do gift vouchers you choose how much you want to spend from as little as £5 with no maximum amount and we will print you a gift voucher. You can order these over the phone and pay by credit / debit card and we email or post you a voucher or just pop in and see us and pick one up. Our gift vouchers can be used on hens, feed or any products.
