We have added this little section in for you, so you can find all the information under one roof.  We hope you find this helpful and we are ALWAYS adding and changing sections to make our website even better.  If there is something you would like to see adding please let me know because we are driven by you the customer.

Under the Chicken Care tab we added loads of extra sections, because we have been asked for more information on Red Mite, worming and other bits so we really hope this is helpful to you.  We have asked our experts at Biolink, Vermx and Haygates for their thoughts and all the information on our pages is directly from them because they really do know best.

WHERE DO WE KEEP OUR HAPPY HENS

When our hens come in to us (after they have had all of their vaccinations).  They go straight outside into a huge paddock this has recently been moved and is now in its new place.  Even if I say so myself it looks amazing a big thank you to Mark for all of his hard work.  By moving the fence it means as soon as you walk into our site you can all of the hens in their paddock.  They are live very happily mixed together you will see this for yourself. 

I could spend hours watching them and love seeing them all outside as a huge colourful flock.  We have adapted the area so you can walk all around it to get up and close with the hens.  We then bring a selection of each breed inside, again mixed together.  The reason we do this because it does not stress the hens out catching them in a smaller area and when you see our outside area you would need to be Rocky to catch them in their huge space. 

Also if its raining you are inside our adapted stables looking at the hens and rather than outside in the rain.  However if it is raining we have a new seating area, and we now also have a bucket full of umbrellas so if you still want to walk around.  You can just borrow one of our umbrellas.  Danny is also going to be fitting a canopy this year over the stables too.  (Not that he knows it yet). 

I never want to get to the point where all of our hens are inside as there is nothing nicer than seeing all our happy hens running around in one huge colourful mixed flock.  They really do have more space than they know what to do with. 

RESERVING HENS 

We understand that it takes time to get everything ready for your new arrivals so you can reserve your hens for up to four weeks.  Come along pick your hen and we will put a leg ring on each hen for you, so that hen will not be sold to anyone else.  We do ask for full payment for your reserved girls.   

DELIVERY SERVICE

If you can not get to us, don't worry we offer a delivery service to not only to local postcodes but all over the country.  We have even delivered chickens to Bamburgh, Northumberland and someone rang me all the way from Rockhampton Australia to arrange chickens for her mum in the UK.  Check out what they said on our testimonial page. 

We have teamed up with a great guy, who will now be doing most of our deliveries.  All of the hens are delivered in an Aerated van where our hens are the priority.  All of the hens are delivered on the same day, if however they are going on a long journeys he will stop and offer them feed and water.  He is DEFRA registered and he will also call you when he is an hour away so need to wait in.

WING CLIPPING 

We will always clip wings / trim the feathers of your hens if you would like us too.  However we love our customers to get hands on, so if you would like to try it for yourself just ask and we will show you how to do it.  And you can have a go, it really is so easy and it doesn't hurt them its just like cutting your nails.  If you are unsure about doing this in the future you can always bring your girls back to us and we will do it for you free of charge.
